Observe the difference between the sensations and emotions in feelings. When you become attached to your feelings they become emotions. When you observe your feelings with innocence and without judgement then they are just sensations. Sensations can easily slip into emotions when you become attached to them. Just recognise its subtlety.
That sensation and feeling of sadness, sorry, anger, greed, jealousy, happiness, etc are all very real indeed. It is their trigger points that are illusions.
